The Need for Identifying a Niche with You Online Business.


This is very important;

Design your ecommerce business around a niche that encompasses

your strengths and interests.

Don’t just design a web business with the main purpose of earning and generating revenue.

Why in the world would I get my self to do something that I don’t

enjoy, like or have passion about...

when there are a dozen things that I will enjoy to do that can easily be turned into an ecommerce business venture.

Something to Enjoy and Passionate about...

Rather design an ecommerce business that apart from the revenue, it will empower you to enjoy and appreciate life. Life is short my friend. Start an ecommerce business that will let you enjoy life and enjoy it to it fullness.

If you don't think you have any strength or interests, for lord’s sake, ask your family members or close friends, for their views on what your strengths and interests are. If you really don't have any interests, for your own sake, switch off that TV and develop some interests.

Need to Target, don't be all over...

Now, there are thousands and millions of customers out there in the web ready to buy products and services that they need. Don’t get hyped and crazy trying to woo millions of customers that we know we have no product or service valuable high enough to sell to them.

Don’t try to sell everything under the sun on your web site and end up having your web site littered with all kind of sales ads and affiliate links.

You know, I’d rather save those customers for tomorrow’s sale opportunities when we will both be ready for each other. For know no need to break one’s back, rather its makes more economical sense to target those 100 to 1000 something visitors that I know will most likely buy my product or service.

But wait a minute, this is easier said than done...This is what I’d do:

  1. I will start by having a profile of who my likely customers could likely be. I’d want to know something about their likely characteristics. Why would I want to know this? Because, if you're going to be competitive online, then you will have to identiy and know your niche.

  2. Once I identify my niche, I will then try to figure out where they are likely to congregate online. I will try to find out which news group or mailing list my target customers are likely to use to communicate within each other and therefore belong to. This is where they gather together to talk about their special interests that bond them together.

  3. I will then join that news group. we have to meet our customers at the point where they start from. my strategy is to develop rapport within that group. Once achieved, now will be the right time to gently and carefully sell our products or services.
Learn to do it right in your e-business from the first day, there is a ton of online businesses out there, filling virtually every niche that already exists, the good news is that very few of them are doing it right and well.

Most start on the wrong foot by trying to compete with big companies and at the same time trying to woo every customer.

Learn from their mistakes, learn to start it right, identify a given niche, that your are passionate about, win it and if you feel you still got the interest and energy to do it all over again, then pursue another niche, go for it bro, if it serves your interest well you will conquer it too.
